Living in Texas is always an adventure especially when it comes to the weather. One hour you're wearing warm-ups and the next you're changing to shorts and a t-shirt! The temperatures can change very quickly and it definitely confuses insects, especially ANTS!! I had fed the dogs this morning and their feeding bowls are purposely spread out in the kitchen / laundry area. Our little Buddy's bowl is in the laundry room and while I was doing some laundry, I noticed ants all around and in his bowl of food. 😠
I knew that there was a natural essential oil spray for ants, so I got out my book "The Essential Gardener" by Tiffany Durr and made a spray bottle of 8 drops each of Peppermint, Cedarwood and Arborvitae essential oils with a drop of mild dish soap plus filtered water to fill up the sprayer. I sprayed the whole area and in about 90 seconds, the ants were DEAD!!
☮️ I have peace of mind that my pets and our bare feet won't be touching an harsh chemicals. ☮️
