When the seasons begin to shift, Mother Nature can keep us guessing. One week may feel like winter, while the next feels like spring. Temperatures fluctuate, winds pick up, and the air can carry pollen, dust, or other seasonal irritants.
In Part I of this series, we talked about the importance of recognizing seasonal environmental changes and paying attention to what is happening around us. Now let's talk about something empowering, being prepared. One of the best ways to support your body during seasonal transitions is to build a simple Natural Wellness Toolbox.
What Is a Natural Wellness Toolbox? 🧰
A Natural Wellness Toolbox is simply a small collection of natural tools and habits that help support your body during seasonal changes.
Many people keep these items within easy reach in places like:
- Kitchen cabinet
- Bedside table
- Bathroom shelf
- Travel bag ✈️
- Basket organizer
The goal is not to create something complicated. Instead, it’s about having a few supportive tools available when you need them.
Core Essential Oils for Seasonal Support
Essential oils are one of the most common tools people include in their wellness toolbox. Three oils that many people rely on during seasonal changes are
💜 Lavender. It is widely known for its calming properties. Many people use lavender to support relaxation, especially when seasonal discomfort makes it harder to sleep.
Common ways to use lavender include:
- diffusing in the evening
- applying diluted before bedtime
- adding to a warm bath 🛁
🍋 Lemon. This oil has a bright, fresh aroma. It is often used to help freshen the air and support the body’s natural cleansing processes.
Some simple ways people use lemon oil include:
- diffusing in living spaces
- adding a drop to water (when using a high quality oil labeled for internal use)
- combining with other oils in diffuser blends
🌿 Peppermint. It has a crisp, cooling aroma that many people enjoy when they want to feel refreshed and breathe more comfortably.
Popular uses include:
- diffusing during the day
- applying diluted to the back of the neck
- adding to seasonal diffuser blends
These oils are often used to support breathing comfort and help the body adapt to environmental irritants.

Essential Oil Diffuser 💧
An essential oil diffuser disperses tiny droplets of essential oils into the air so you can enjoy their aroma throughout a room. Many people like using diffusers in bedrooms, home offices, and living rooms. Diffusing oils like lavender, lemon, or peppermint can help create a calm and refreshing environment when outdoor conditions are changing.
Humidifier Designed for Essential Oils 🌬️
Seasonal changes can sometimes bring dry indoor air, especially when heaters or air conditioners run frequently. A humidifier adds moisture to the air, which can help the nose and throat feel more comfortable.
Some humidifiers include a separate tray designed for essential oils, allowing you to enjoy aromatic support while maintaining healthy humidity levels.
If using essential oils with a humidifier, it is important to use a model that is specifically designed for oils.
Natural Tip #1: Lemon and Honey for Throat Comfort 🍯🍋
During times when the air feels dusty or dry, the throat can sometimes feel irritated. A simple natural remedy many people enjoy is lemon essential oil with honey.
Try this: Add 1 drop of lemon essential oil to 1 teaspoon of honey. Stir well and allow it to slowly coat the throat.
Honey is naturally soothing, while lemon oil is often used to support the body’s natural cleansing processes.
Did You Know? 💡
Some essential oils can be taken internally when they are 100% pure and labeled for internal use, such as oils that meet CPTG quality standards. One simple way many people use essential oils internally is by placing them in a vegetable capsule.
Natural Tip #2: The Power Trio Capsule 🌿
Many essential oil users turn to the classic combination of Lavender, Lemon, and Peppermint during times when seasonal irritants are high. In fact, this is the exact combination I started using about 10 years ago when I was looking for natural ways to support my own seasonal wellness.
It quickly became one of my favorite tools during certain times of the year.
Some people use it this way:
• 3 drops Lavender
• 3 drops Lemon
• 3 drops Peppermint
Place the oils into a vegetable capsule and swallow with water.
Many people find this combination helpful when they experience things like:
• itchy eyes
• scratchy throat
• sneezing
• seasonal irritations
Because essential oils are very concentrated, only a small amount is needed. If you have any questions, please fill out the form below. 👇
